Spring brings a lot of beauty to the northern shores of Chicago. Unfortunately it can also bring signs that repairs need to be made to your chimney.
A common problem is chunks of mortar or bricks that have fallen out of the chimney. It is evidenced by mortar on the roof, in the gutters and on the ground surrounding the chimney. What causes this problem? It’s hard to answer this question because many factors can be at work. One of the most common denominators is freeze-thaw situations.
We can take a look at your chimney and tell you if it is vulnerable to freeze-thaw damage. If this is the case we can prescribe preventative measures to preserve your investment. Preventing a problem before it happens is more cost-effective than taking care of damages after the fact.
If your chimney is already exhibiting this phenomenon then it is likely leaking. It’s imperative that we take a look and make recommended repairs before more damage occurs to your home. We have the equipment, the knowledge and the ability to fix whatever chimney problem you have.
